Chapter 1: Yuri's secret
Chapter Text
To be honest, Yuri and Price met much earlier, although the latter is not even aware of it. In 1996, along with Makarov, they were waiting in a car, and the Russian could almost swear he saw something flash from one of the higher buildings. At first, he thought it could be some shards of glass, but later Zakhaev lost his arm, and then Yuri knew it was a sniper rifle. For his own safety, he did not mention it because he could have lost his life for not informing earlier about a potential threat. Later he was instructed to check the area, and on the way, he noticed how an unknown man was carrying another injured one on his shoulders. At first, he planned to eliminate them, but something compelled him to stop, and for some reason, he decided to turn back to the others. Years later, he and Price met, but only Yuri remembered him. That fishing hat, the same, although this time a bit of unkempt beard, and the same worried expression on his face. At that moment, Yuri was glad that he had decided not to pull the trigger that day.
Chapter 2: Nightmares
Chapter Text
Although Ghost does not suffer from insomnia, he is unable to sleep through a significant part of the night. He is simply tormented by nightmares related to his family and friends, so he usually wakes up drenched in sweat and with a pounding heart. He doesn't go back to sleep later; instead, he goes to work out, smoke outside, or simply head to the armory to check or clean his (and sometimes even someone else's) weapon, just to focus his thoughts on anything else. That's why he paints his eyes with black paint, as it is one of the better ways to hide the dark circles or bags that appear there after sleepless nights.
Chapter 3: Sunglasses
Chapter Text
Horangi wears sunglasses not only wanting to remain 'anonymous' but also because he is somewhat sensitive to sunlight, and even artificial light, so he also wears glasses indoors. It's true that this doesn't interfere with his work, but sometimes he would prefer to be just blind so that he would only need contact lenses.
Chapter 4: König's education
Chapter Text
Practically all of his primary education took place at home, where he was taught by his mother as well as his aunt. All of this was caused by the children, who mocked him because he was considered a weirdo. The teachers were no better either, because instead of condemning such behavior, they seemed to deliberately hinder the boy's education, which resulted in frequent visits from his parents to the school. Therefore, the decision was made for him to study in the comfort of his home, and thank God his aunt used to be a teacher.
Chapter 5: Riley
Chapter Text
At first, Elias was not convinced at all about the idea of having a pet at home, and therefore he never agreed. Even after his wife's death, he was not convinced about it, but everything changed one day when he noticed a wandering German Shepherd dog in the area. At first, he ignored her because he was sure that she was just out for a walk with her owner, but he ended up seeing that dog too often. Eventually, he decided to check on the animal, which turned out to be quite aggressive, at least until Elias started bringing food. Later he noticed that it was indeed a female dog, and quite overweight for a starving dog; then he understood that she must have been pregnant. He tried numerous times to catch her and take her to the vet, but the dog always ran away, even when specialists in such matters were called. For a while, Elias stopped seeing the German shepherd, and surprised by his concern, he decided to search the area, which resulted in finding a dog lying somewhere in the woods, surrounded by a bunch of puppies. She was dead, but injured, so Walker guessed that she must have been attacked by some animal, or perhaps she was struck by a car and barely managed to get to her young, who might have been starving for some time. The puppies were taken to the veterinarian, but of the six, only two survived, and one of them had to be euthanized for its own good. In the end, Elias decided to take the other puppy home, but he told his sons that he got the dog from a buddy from the military who trains K9. So far, he is not sure why he didn't tell them the truth. Maybe he just didn't want to sadden the children with the story of the homeless and pregnant dog, which ultimately did not find a home, and only one puppy from her entire litter survived. Either way, to this day, Elias is happy he decided to take in that dog. At first, he planned to name him Lucky due to his luck, but in the end, the name Riley won out because it was the first word Logan said after a long period of silence.
Chapter 6: Siblings
Notes:
For me, it doesn't matter whether we're talking about John from the original trilogy or the new one. It seems to me that the only difference could be Soap's attitude towards his sisters, so maybe one day I'll write more about it.
Chapter Text
Soap has three younger sisters (of whom the oldest is twenty-three years old, the middle one is seventeen, and the youngest is eleven). Interestingly, John, as the only one of the four, was an illegitimate child and not necessarily planned, although he was very loved.
Chapter 7: Cap
Chapter Text
The cap that Kyle wears throughout the series once belonged to his brother, who was killed in action (he was a police officer). Garrick was incredibly proud of his older brother, and the cap is a kind of sign of respect, which is why it is rarely taken off.
Chapter 8: Squid Game
Chapter Text
Once, during one of the missions, Horangi saved a child who, in gratitude, decorated his vest with patches that he still intends to keep to this day. It's just a pity that the people who weren't with him back then are convinced that it's a reference to Squid Game. Well, at least thanks to that he had something to watch later when he had free time at work.
Chapter 9: Spanish
Chapter Text
Alejandro, by habit, speaks Spanish even among people who clearly do not know the language or are simply just learning it. He does not do this on purpose; it's just his native language that he uses daily, and sometimes he really forgets that not everyone speaks Spanish. That's why it's worth reminding him if he changes his 'language settings' again.
Chapter 10: Keegan's cats
Notes:
Honestly, I have no idea why, but Keegan looks to me like someone who might like cats. Maybe something like a cat dad?
I don't know, but I consider it a canon and let someone try to change my mind about it.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Keegan really likes cats, and it is their company that makes him happy (sometimes even more than the company of other people). At first, he planned to have just one cat, but his problem was simple: he saw a stray cat — he brought it home. That's how from one fur ball, there ended up being six. Every cat is different, each was adopted differently, and yet they all are the reason why Keegan loves coming home. So at this moment he has six really different cats, but they treat each other as if they are from the same litter.
Astes (♂) — it is a beautiful cat with slightly longer brown fur, which may be a mix of a ragdoll and a siamese. He has snowy white paws and chest area, while his muzzle, ears, paws, and tail are a dark brown color. He's eyes are a pale yellow. Astes is Keegan's first cat, so that might be why the tomcat follows the man practically everywhere (even to the bathroom), and several times he even tried to hide in the man's bag when he was forced to return to the army;
Echo (♀) — it's a beautiful Siamese cat with blue eyes that Keegan found while walking in the wooded area around his home. One evening, he found a bag in the lake, which he quickly pulled out, and inside he found two kittens, of which only Echo was alive, whom he immediately took home. This is a very energetic cat who hates water (unless Keegan is washing, then she jumps into the bathtub or under the shower). She loves to lounge by the fireplace, where she has her favorite spot, and she always waits by the window until her owner returns;
Millie (♀) — it is a Bengal cat with yellow-green eyes, which Keegan found during one of his missions, in one of the abandoned buildings. He heard a kitten's cry and couldn't pass by indifferently, so he detached himself from the others and found the kitten trapped under the rubble. Millie and Echo treat each other like sisters, which is why they eat from the same bowl, sleep in the same bed, and wash each other. The cat is afraid of people, so someone might have abused her. She used to be scared of Keegan too, but now she loves him;
Emiliette (♀) — it's a gray Maine Coon with one green eye and the other blue. Keegan received her as a gift from friends for his twenty-fifth birthday, but everyone was firmly convinced that it was an ordinary Persian, which is why they were very surprised when the little kitten eventually started to resemble a goddamn lynx. She is very cuddly and loves the moments when Keegan is lying on the couch, and she can lie down on him. And right after her, the other cats join in; so the man remains immobilized;
Emmett (♂) — this is a Russian blue cat with green eyes that Keegan saw at the shelter when he was going with a friend to pick up a present for her friend. In theory, it was supposed to be just a companion, but in the end, he walked out with a cat that, although it was sickly, turned out to be a wonderful addition to his feline family. Emmett had joint problems, was clawless, and also had worse vision in one eye, but he was not rejected by other cats, nor especially by Keegan;
Bernie (♂) — this is a cat of the Sphynx breed that Keegan received from a friend who regularly comes to feed his cats while he is at work. Bernie is still a kitten with pink skin and blue eyes, who loves to play tag with Echo and Millie, or to lie down between the other cats just to gain a bit of warmth from their fur. To be honest, Keegan is more of a fan of 'hairy' cats, but this particular kitten won his heart as soon as it laid down on his lap. Besides, Russ couldn't help but think about how this cat might look in damn sweaters or hoodies.
Notes:
Do I have more ideas about what animals could have other characters from CoD? Of course, I do. Am I planning to describe them in the future? You don't need to ask twice, I'm already getting to writing.
Next time, someone from the Black Ops or Modern Warfare series (original or reboot) will appear.
Chapter 11: Secret
Chapter Text
At the moment when Price was getting divorced from his wife, the woman did not tell him about the pregnancy. Instead, she left and later insisted to everyone that the child belonged to her new partner, with whom she later got married. She never told her daughter the truth about her biological father because she believed that by doing so, she was protecting her, not only from Price's work but also from him.
Chapter 12: Hair
Chapter Text
Farah rarely lets her hair down, although she looks really nice with it down. It bothers her too much at work, and that's why she always has it tied up (plus, it's worth considering her faith as well). Moreover, she no longer cuts them off, due to the fact that she spent half of her youth practically without them.
Chapter 13: Nickname
Notes:
Information for those waiting for preferences from RE.
A chapter will appear in two or three days (maybe even earlier)
Chapter Text
His nickname "Horangi" (which means tiger in Korean) actually comes from the fact that his face is adorned with several scars that somehow align to form stripes similar to those of a tiger. They were made back in Korea, and that night Horangi could have lost his life if he hadn't managed to escape.
Chapter 14: Laswell and her culinary skills
Notes:
For people reading preferences from RE: a delayed chapter has appeared.
Chapter Text
When it comes to civilian life, she takes care of the house, and her wife takes care of cooking. To be honest, Laswell's kitchen is not very safe or tasty, but it won't kill anyone either. You can only get food poisoning, which Price, Nikolai, and Gaz have already experienced.
Chapter 15: Adler's secret
Notes:
I like these headcanons. I'm not sure when yet, but I think I will decide to do a headcanon with Resident Evil. Is anyone interested in reading?
No?
Well...
I'll write them anyway.
Chapter Text
Usually, when people talk about Adler and speculate on what his 'ideal life' might look like, they imagine rather the stereotypical American type, which is a house with a white fence, a wife, children, and a dog (preferably a Golden Retriever or a Labrador). No one, however, has any idea that Adler secretly is a fan of cats, and even keeps one in his apartment. Once he found a dirty, frozen kitten on the street and even his seemingly icy heart couldn't leave the creature to fend for itself, so he took it to his apartment. At first, he planned to provide the cat with just a bath, some food, and a place to sleep, so that the next day he could find a home for the kitten, but ultimately he became too accustomed to the small creature, which also started seeking attention from the man. Then he understood that he is a fan of cats and quite often stops in the street whenever he sees a stray or just a wandering furry creature nearby, and then crouches down to pet it. Sometimes he also leaves some cat food in one of the nearby alleys, where he most often finds cats. Only Sims knows about it, who was a witness to the finding of the kitten, and even quite often leaves it in the care of his wife when he and Adler have to leave for a while. And just so you know, this is not some pedigree and fussy cat, but a rather ordinary and unremarkable animal that melted the frozen heart of a man who was willing to sacrifice the lives of others, and even his own happiness, for the good of millions.
Chapter 16: Scar
Chapter Text
The scar on Graves' cheek was made by his father, who believed that through violence, discipline, and a heavy hand, he would raise his son to be a "true" man. Philip often tells that his scars are mementos from his work, but in reality, some of them were acquired in childhood, which he doesn’t remember fondly, although it is true that he matured quickly after that.
Chapter 17: Cats
Notes:
For those interested, a chapter on preferences from RE will be released today.
Chapter Text
Maybe Ghost doesn't have pets in his home, but one day he noticed that a few hungry cats were gathering at the back of the military base, and Ghost couldn't ignore them. He began to feed them, later to pet them, and ultimately gave them names. He named the oldest gray cat Denise, after his mother. The black cat he named Tommy after his brother, the ginger cat he named Beth after his sister-in-law, and the little black and ginger kitten he named Joseph, because of his nephew. Sometimes he talks to them as if they were really his family, even though he knows they are not. Once Price caught him, but instead of reporting the stray cats to someone higher up, he sat next to the lieutenant and played with them, asking about their names.
Chapter 18: Alex's decision
Chapter Text
Alex Keller was in a really long and happy relationship, but he decided to end it, being too afraid that one day he wouldn't return, leaving the love of his life alone. Sometimes he still thinks about her, although he knows that it is already a closed chapter, and he will never see her again.
Chapter 19: One bad decision
Chapter Text
For a while, Horangi did not speak to his family, which led them to believe he was dead. One day, he returned to greet them and apologize for everything, but he did not expect to come back to an almost empty house. It turned out that his father fell into alcoholism and left forever, and his mother, shortly after her son allegedly died, committed suicide.
Chapter 20: König's height
Notes:
If I confused something with foot measurements, I apologize, but in my country we use centimeters.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
König inherited his height from his father's side of the family. The tallest man there measured over 6'6 (199 cm), and the tallest woman 6'2 (187 cm).
Notes:
Short, unimportant info:
I created an account on Tumblr, where I will be posting additional things, updates about some of my works, and all the rest of such things. If someone wants, they can also write to me there, possibly regarding future works.
Do you want to check out my Tumblr or be active there? Great!
You don't want to? Well, that's great too!
I wish you a nice day or night!
Chapter 21: Nikolai's family
Notes:
I don't know why, but I think this headcanon didn't get published when I submitted it over the weekend.
Chapter Text
His parents died when he was still a child, so he ended up under the care of his grandparents, who unfortunately passed away a few years later due to old age. He fled the country, not wanting to end up in an orphanage, and only returned to Moscow a few years later, where he has been living ever since. In secret, however, he gives some of his money to orphanages to help at least a little the children who have lost their parents. He did not want them to share the fate that could await him.
Chapter 22: Stray cats
Chapter Text
Rodolfo often feeds the cats from a certain alley that is literally swarming with them. He hasn't given these animals names, but he enjoys talking to them, feeding them, and playing with them because they are very eager for a bit of affection. There are adult cats as well as kittens of various breeds and colors, so there is plenty to choose from. Although Rodolfo regularly brings friends there who are looking for a pet, because there is a good chance that one of those furry ones will find a permanent home. One cannot say that they all belong to him, but they certainly trust him and would gladly follow him to his home (though some have already tried to do so).
Chapter 23: Philip's mother
Chapter Text
His mother left his father when he started to take out his anger on her. Graves was maybe ten years old then and has not heard about that woman since. He tried to find her many times, but she vanished.
