Chapter Text
It has been 41 years since they were cursed, 51 if you count ‘The Future That Never Was.’ And Skull was the last Arcobaleno standing. His entire Harmony was gone. It was disorienting. He knew that it was bound to happen at one point, and they all lasted way longer than anyone thought they would.
Skull felt it instantly, when Reborn’s Flames fully diminished. The Cloud’s entire world, already full of cracks, completely shattered. Violet Flames consumed him in rage as he destroyed the Arcobaleno Mansion. Thankfully it was long abandoned, the only inhabitants having been the Arcobaleno, and Yuni who had been staying with Byakuran and Tsuna since the curse started killing them off.
Skull raged continuously for days, his Flames only starting to diminish once the entire property was destroyed and covered in purple fire. Eventually Skull collapsed. His body had long weakened, only supported through pure will and Flames. The tale of the last Cloud Arcobaleno’s rage would become a horror story in the Mafia told for ages. Skull was so tired, his Flames and body were well pushed past their limit. Flame exhaustion hit him like a truck.
He closed his eyes for a moment of rest. And when he blinked them open, everything changed.
Purple eyes slowly fluttered open to see nothing but bright white. Everything was quiet for just that moment until a loud scream abruptly pierced through the
silence. He had been alone, so who could the scream be coming from? Is this a dream? A nightmare? What was going on?! His thoughts were interrupted by a blob of blurry green coming into view, growing larger and larger as it became more clear what Skull was seeing. Is that a person? Who is this green lady towering above him? Why does he feel so.. Small… Realization dawned on Skull in near instantly. He was a baby. A newly born baby to be exact. Probably just having been born. The scream must be coming from him then, he figured. That woman must be his mother. She smiled at him so warmly, eyes showing both tiredness and of love.
“Hello Izuku. I am Inko, your mother” She had softly greeted him as her son was placed in her waiting arms. Her voice was unknown yet it filled Skull’s chest with a warm feeling. It felt like home. The crying came to a stop.
Izuku… That must be his new name. Not bad but he still preferred Skull to be honest. It might have started as nothing but a stage name, but now, after everything that happened in the mafia, he couldn’t imagine any other name that fit who he was so perfectly. He would have to go along with it for now, and when he is older, he can go back to Skull again. Another voice rang out, this one belonging to a man. It was slightly familiar..
“I’m Hisashi, and I am your father, little one.” The man had medium white hair pulled into a low ponytail. His eyes were an auburn color, shining more red than brown in the light. Round glasses sat on his nose..
Oh that motherfucker! What the fuck is Kawahira doing here? And did he just say that he was Skull’s father?!
Purple eyes met auburn ones. “Oh, I see. Why hello, my little Cielo Nuvoloso.” ‘Cloudy Sky- He just called me a Cloudy Sky?! What the actual fuck?!’ Skull was most definitely freaking out. He started screaming again, this time slightly intentional. He knew it might have been mean but he had a lot going on at the moment, okay? He was allowed to have a mental breakdown or two. And if it made Kawahira flinch then that was just a bonus. He deserved it.
Having to grow up again was… something. It was boring and repetitive for the first few months. The only fun he had during that time was when he messed with Checker Face. Skull had taken to always fusing around him which quickly turned into screaming if the man came too close. It was inevitable, though, that Inko started to take notice and worry. Hisashi always tried brushing it off, saying Izuku would eventually grow out of it and the father and son would grow closer.
Skull took notice how much Kawahira seemed to love the angel that was his new mother. Inko seemed to love him back, just as much. While Skull had not grown to care for Kawahira, he had grown to care for Inko. He never had actual parents growing up the first time, having one was new to him. But he found he did not mind. She was lovely and an amazing mother.
Skull had a choice to make. He could either keep punishing Kawahira for what he had done, which was upsetting his mother, or he could suck it up and try to reconcile with him. He pondered over what decision to make for days until he came to a decision. If he was truly Skull’s father in this life, then he would be stuck with the Mist. At least until he turned 18. Logically they would eventually come to some kind of understanding during that time, so why bother waiting? And that did not necessarily mean he was forgiving him either. Skull wanted to make the best of his new life. And if the other Arcobaleno were here, which he didn’t doubt, Checker Face could be helpful in locating them.
Later that night, Skull laid calmly in his bassinet. He saw Kawahira approaching him out of the corner of his eye. The older man paused when he realized Izuku was not asleep, but watching him quietly. “I suppose it is time for us to talk, Skull.” He sounded resigned. Kawahira walked up to the bassinet, reaching down to pick Izuku up. He held him close, for a second, before he sat down in the rocking chair nearby.
“I know this situation is strange, it definitely was for me when I woke up in this world, and I hope you can fully comprehend the world around you like I was able to at your age, but as I said we need to have a chat, Skull De Mort.” Oh shit. Not the full name.
Notes:
I am not going to lie, I am having a slighlty tough time figuring out who some of the Arco should be reborn as sobs. I know Reborn and Verde, and Yuni, but thats it. If anyone has ideas or thoughts lemme know <3
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Summary:
A continued conversation between father and son, Skull learns of Quirks, Izuku meets Kachan, and small moments of him growing up till his first birthday.
Notes:
A small note of how I refer to Skull/Izuku!
I will typically refer to him a "Skull" when he is referring to himself or when the story is in his P.O.V. People from the KHR-verse will typically call him Skull, with Kawahira mainly using Izuku.
Izuku will be used mainly when it is in another person's P.O.V or when they are talking to or about him.
I will try to be consistent with this, however I may mess up lol

Chapter Text
Last Chapter:
“I know this situation is strange, it definitely was for me when I woke up in this world, and I hope you can fully comprehend the world around you like I was able to at your age, but as I said we need to have a chat, Skull De Mort.” Oh shit. Not the full name.
Skull laid quietly in Kawahira’s arms as the man began to talk.
“I know you resent me for my part in the Arcobaleno and their death, and I don’t blame you. I’m sure you were made aware, at least partially, of why the Arcobaleno and the rest of the Tri-Ni-Sette exist. The Arcobaleno’s Pacifiers, Vongola’s Rings, and Mare Rings, were all made from seven special stones in order to help guide the growth and development of life on Earth while maintaining the balance of its life force. Before the stones were split up, my species, Earthlings, made it our job to use our flames with the stones to keep said balance.
However, as our species started going extinct, we were no longer able to support it ourselves. Then there were only two of us left. That is when Sepira, Yuni’s Ancestor, and I split the stones into what they would become known as. As one of the last Earthlings, it had been my duty, my purpose, to choose the strongest Flame users of each type to bear the Pacifiers. The cycle continued for generations, ending with yours. In the beginning, I did try looking for alternate ways, although I gave that up rather easily. I’m sorry. If I had tried harder, less people would have had to suffer. I hope someday you can forgive me, Skull.”
Hisashi placed his son back into his bassinet.
It has been a few weeks since Kawahira talked with Skull and things have slowly been improving. Skull still clearly held a grudge against the white haired man, but at least he no longer screamed every time the man got near. It was around that time that he learned of Quirks. He had seen some strange things before but did not think much of it. At least not until he saw Kawahira literally breathing fire to heat up a bottle of formula. To say he was surprised would be an understatement. He must have let out a surprised cry as Kawahira turned around to face him, confusion written across his face.
“Izuku,” He started. “Have I not told you about Quirks yet?” It was now Skull’s turn to be confused. Quirks?
“Ah. That must be a ‘no.’ In this world, Dying Will Flames do not exist. We both however still have ours. Instead, this world has superpowers that they call Quirks. Currently, a majority of the population have them. Only a small number of people do not have a Quirk. They unfortunately face discrimination for their lack of a Quirk. There are many different types of Quirks, which I am sure you will see as you get older. Quirks tend to come in around the age of four, and it is very rare for someone to be born with more than one quirk, but not unheard of. For you, I have both good news and bad news. Bad news is that unfortunately you were born Quirkless. The good news though, is that since you still have your Cloud Flames, as well as Sky Flames, you can easily pass them off as a Quirk when the time comes. I am sure you are wondering about my own Quirk. I have a fire breathing one. Pretty cool right?”
Inko loved her son dearly, Izuku and Hisashi were her everything. Mitsuki was her best friend from High School, And after finding out they were both pregnant around the same time? It was an amazing experience to go through that with your best friend. They often talked about how their children would also become best friends like they were. It was sweet. So of course when Izuku was a little older, Inko decided it was time for him to meet the Bakugou’s.
Inko, Hisashi, and Izuku all walked down the street to where the Bakugou family lived. The house was a bit bigger than their own home, but not by much. Hisashi gripped the stroller, his brown-red eyes meeting violet ones. Izuku could feel the nervousness and excitement his parents radiated. Inko raised her hand, knocking gently on the door. Only seconds later it swung open, revealing Mitsuki.
“Inko! It feels like it’s been years! Come in, come in! I want to meet Izuku!” She exclaimed loudly and with enthusiasm. Inko responded by hugging the blond tightly as she entered. Hisashi followed, bringing Izuku into the house. They walked through the doorway and entered the living room. Masaru sat on the couch, holding Katsuki.
“Inko, Hisashi, welcome! Come see Katsuki.” Masaru smiled warmly at the Midoriya’s.
Skull stayed quiet as his father unbuckled him from the stroller and pulled him out. His purple eyes glanced around the room curiously, until they met a pair of bright red eyes.
‘How… Curious. Those eyes remind me so much of Xanxus. Maybe it’s the similar red color, or maybe his personality will grow to match the Sky’s. It could always be both, but either way only time will tell. And I am sure I will see the results, since he is the son of my mother’s best friend, I will no doubt be growing up with him.‘ Skull thought to himself as he was brought closer to the blond child.
“Awe! Look at them! Best friends already!” The mothers cooed as their sons kept staring at each other. The visit lasted a few hours. Inko and Mitsuki talking to each other for a majority of the time, as well as Hisashi and Masaru talking while watching over the kids. By the time the Midoriya’s left the Bakugou house, they were all fairly exhausted. They ended up spending the rest of the night watching old Disney movies, per Hisashi’s request, before turning in early.
Notes:
I plan on Skull meeting one of the Arcobaleno in the near future chapters, however I am unsure who he should run into first.
It will either be Reborn, Verde, or Fon. If you would prefer to see one of the three options, or even a different one, let me know :)In the next chapter, we will see Skull "getting his Quirk," and maybe an Arcobaleno appearance ;)
