Summary
For sixteen years, Patroclus has worked hard to keep the war from harming those he loved the most. He convinced Achilles to choose peace and life over glory, and together they had grown and raised their family. He was convince King Peleus and the foreign leaders alike to keep Phthia out of the war, preventing a single man from being shipped to the beaches of Troy. He had worked hard to keep the peace, and for a long time, succeeded.
But that was before the cunning King of Ithaca uses his tricks to attack the peaceful family on their eldest's 16th birthday, taking away their peace, their safety and their oldest son. That was before Odysseus showed he thought himself entitled to take it all. That was before Odysseus showed he thought no consequences would come to him.
Patroclus would prove him wrong, ensuring the Ithacan King lost what he had lost. That all those war-mongering kings, the ones whose arrogance and entitlement kept the war raging for 16 years, would lose it all.
OR
Patroclus decides to avenge his time by conquering Greece.

Summary
Why are habits so hard to break? Everyone has habits they create. Some small and unconcious, some done as a means of survival. But when those habits are starting to hurt others, you do your best to try and quit them. If you can make them you can quit them, right? its simple! Sadly, some habits are harder to break than others. Especially Telemachus and everyone here, but will they fail and let their lives fall apart, or will they help pick each other up and break these cycles.
Some habits never die but people sure do -

Summary
"Of course you want to tell Hector."
"That's not what I said," Polites protested. "I said he's the captain. You decided that at the meeting I wasn't at. Don't be impulsive, Hector must know—"
"Impulsive?" Odysseus echoed, and Polites wanted to punch himself. Why had he said impulsive? Why not any other word in the world?
He was tired. And he could barely hear Odysseus' complaints. Polites was tired, tired of everything and everyone, and he understood Patroclus, who had taken refuge in bed. He understood Helen, who had carried him away and then simply sat there staring at the sea.
He wasn't Hector, and he wasn't Odysseus. He wasn't born to fight, and just because he knew how to do it didn't mean he could.
"Listen," he said, already forgetting what Odysseus had just said. "You have to tell the captain what a god told you. Not doing so is mutiny."
Odysseus looked at the sack, not at him. "Fine. But I'll be the one to tell him, and no one else will know."
***
Despite the effort, leaving isn't the hardest part. The worst part is not knowing who you can trust when everything falls apart.
Or: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

---------------
When the kings of Greece come to conscript Odysseus for the Trojan War, Penelope of Ithaca knows one thing: she will not lose her husband to war, and she will not let her son be used to take him. In a desperate attempt to save her family, Penelope offers herself to the war effort in Odysseus's place.
Penelope is whisked away to Troy with her army, and a devastated Odysseus is left to raise his infant son alone. Even when the war ends, their trials do not. Penelope faces gods and monsters while Odysseus struggles to rule Ithaca and protect himself and his son from the malevolent suitors seeking his hand.
Essentially, the plot of EPIC, but Penelope and Odysseus's places are switched, and the Ithaca side of the plot is quite a bit darker.

Summary
When Odysseus walked into algebra that fateful morning, he never expected to be sat to his crush since the beginning of time itself, Penelope Icaria.
But fate works in mysterious ways and through numerous encounters in and outside of school, beginning with a simple photography project, these two will form a blossoming relationship. The real question is, will Odysseus ever actually tell Penelope how he feels? I guess you'll have to read to find out...
(Sorry, I suck at summaries. Other characters and their lives will also be important, ex. Achilles and Patroclus (I exist mostly to consume/create gay shit), but OdyPen will be the main focus of this fic if I am actually ableto write anything semi-cohesive. Also Idk why that's the title, I'm going a bit insane.) -

Junior year of high school
Odysseus just wants to be through it with no distractions. He’s smart enough for that. Just get through SAT and Ap’s, one more year at home and then he was free to go to… whatever college he got into. Of course he also has to balance studying with the stupid swim team practices at godsforsaken times in the morning. And this was all before he noticed Penelope and she dragged him onto the chess team and they both play the same opening.

Summary
Odysseus grew up in a very loving, well off family, with loving parents and a....well, loving is an overstatement, maybe "tolerable" little sister. They lived in their little town of Ithaca, New York, where Odysseus met his friends and went to elementary and middle school, and was also mentored under the watchful eye of his Mentor Athena. But then things went....extremely southwards, his Mentor moved away to a bigger town, somewhere in Michigan, Odysseus' father Laertes, who was providing for their family, got diagnosed with dementia. Anticlea, looking to both get Odysseus in a better school, get better treatment for her husband, buy a cheaper, more sustainable house with her rather rather measly income, and connect with some older family friends, decided to uproot their family and move them to Troy, Michigan. She picked up more jobs where she could to get the money for their fathers' treatment, as well as to sustain their family, leaving Odysseus to care for his sister mostly alone while starting a completely new school in a completely new town he knows nothing about.
This is my first ever fic, I'll try to keep updates consistent, probably once every week or 2. It's probably going to be cringe, but ill have fun.

Summary
“So you do not have a family.”
It was a statement, not a question, but he still nodded.
“You have no name to align with your own.”
“The others at the palace had taken to referring to me as ‘The Son of Sisyphus’. I do not wish to be called that.”
He sounded pitiful, and yet there was still not any sign of that cursed emotion in her eyes. Instead there was something sharp and hair-raising about the way her pupils seemed to grow and then shrink the longer she looked at him.
“You are alone.”
“I am alone. . .” he whispered, knowing she heard him. “I do not wish to be forever.”
At the age of twelve Odysseus is ripped from his home and stripped of his titles after narrowly avoiding execution by his own father's hands. Unable to find stability, his wanderings lead him to Sparta. There he meets Menelaus and, by the other prince's encouragement, agrees to compete for Helen’s hand for the sake of food and shelter. Unsure of what comes next, Odysseus only knows one thing: his struggles are far from over. . .
Inspired by the non-Homeric myth of Odysseus’s father being Sisyphus rather than Laertedes, and my own love for a certain song that introduced me to EPIC.
