I’ve actually referred to this specific night briefly in another story as something that happened previously, but I always wanted to follow up and tell in more detail what happened. A/N: This opening scene is my take on one that was cut from the series between Daniel and Bradford. I couldn’t believe how little they interacted in the show! What son has to schedule an appointment with his own father? Bradford was a terrible husband and father! No wonder Daniel was a sleazy womanizer to begin with! Thank God Claire had a good heart! But between her alcoholism, Bradford’s horrible treatment of his family, and Alex’s selfish nature, Daniel was by far the best of the bunch!
I felt sorry for him, especially in the first season, as he tried to keep his “head above water” amid the chaos in his family. He really nailed it in his apology to Betty, telling her that just because he was rich didn’t mean he didn’t have his own set of problems! It didn’t excuse his horrible treatment of her that first week or his cavalier attitude towards the women he slept with, but I can see how he used sleeping around as his drug of choice. Thank goodness he met Betty, and she loved him enough to expect more from him!

Fair warning, I will also be altering timelines, merging fandoms, and character ages to make things better fit, but for the most part, the canon of all shows will remain the same.

A/N: Those of you who know MY story and how I came to be a writer for Ugly Betty fanfiction already know most of this, but for the ‘newbies’ to our little community...
In 2013, Heather and I (those of you who have been on this site since the beginning know her; she is the one who first started this livejournal community) co-wrote a script for an Ugly Betty movie with the crazy idea of taking it to either Eric Mabius, who was one of the judges for The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival and/or America Ferrera’s agency in Brooklyn. We finished that script and took it to Brooklyn with us. Unfortunately, in spite of our best efforts, Eric was not in attendance at the festival and I got the brush off from America’s ‘people’.Sadly, our script didn't get seen by Silvio or Salma or Paul Lett at ABC-ya back then. Oh well, c'est la vie!
I don't know about Heather, but I do still have a hard copy of our script. This is my own mini "version" of one possible Ugly Betty Movie, that I posted to Live Journal in 2015. It's short and sweet. Hope you enjoy! -
