Yaoyorozu Momo didn't want to be used anymore, so she died her own terms (she didn't, and she's still being used).
Monoma Neito wanted to show the world how hurt he was. They know that now (he didn't plan to see the fallout, but now he will).
Jirou Kyouka couldn't take it anymore. A life for the life she took (but not really - she survived).
Hatsume Mei finally listened to her peers and took a leap of faith (she was caught).

A chance encounter after All Might left him on the roof, and Izuku throwing his hero analysis book off said roof, led him to meet Io, the Circle Hero. Her hero costume reminded him of witches and wizards, and he would've never imagined that it was real.
That magic was real.
Io reveals herself a witch, and informs him that although he doesn't have a quirk, he has magic and she can teach him if he wants. She can teach him all sorts of spells, glyphs, and potions! He'll have to work hard to learn them all, to work hard in becoming strong, and work hard to achieve his dream of becoming a hero!
"Magic isn't something simple. It's, complex, alive. It's wild, unpredictable, beautiful. That's why we train, so we can understand it. Be in tune, and be able to safely use it. It's about connecting with it, not using it."

He's rethinking being a Pro-hero while on the way home from school when a ping from his phone has him pulling it out, only to see live news footage of a villain fight happening between Endeavor, All Might ( what's he even doing in Masutafu?) and an unknown villain, who seems to be giving them a run for their money. The villain seems to be evading them, and that causes the two heroes to be leaving crumbling and burned down buildings from All Might's punches, and Endeavors Hellflame.
Izuku looks at his phone with an unimpressed look, already finding multiple ways in which the heroes could have detained the villain.
But, oh well. What did he know about being a hero. He was just an 'idiot bunny' as Kacchan and half the school likes to call him.
He really wants to see his mom.
This thought makes him speed up in getting home. It's at this point that he realizes that the direction of the villain fight is getting dangerously close to his apartment building.

He couldn’t remember how he ended up in this place, but it had been years. He knew that. He watched as the watchers got older and some even stopped showing up. His handler was gray now. Not the vibrant red that he had once been. There was a new face in the watchers.
“Tonight's fight to the death!” The Watchers screamed, cutting off the announcer. “The Dragon against our challenger! Avone!” The cage lifted.

To anyone with eyes he’s a heteromorph of the horse variety and that’d be it. In fact you can even say he got it lucky to be conventionally featured. No long face jokes can land as well if he didn’t. Besides the horse aspect, he got it all. He got the air-defying purple hair, the lidded dead fish eyes, the gigantic forehead, the tall boxy stature that screams intimidating to your average short dude in their 20s with a complex, and normal human teeth™.
His appearance alone made hiding his more “less than desirable” quirk from his peers so much easier.
After Shinsou fails to get into the Hero Course, his classmates in 1-C come together to help him win the Sports Festival for the hell of it.

They say that if you wish with all your heart, anything you desire can be yours. When he was just a child, Akira wished as hard as he could for a Heroic Quirk, and he later developed Energy Store. However, the luster has worn away with time, and his desire to be a Hero has dwindled, fading into nothingness. Now though, at fourteen, he comes across a Hero bleeding to death in an alleyway. With all his heart, he wishes for the ability to help this man, and he develops Heal. Now he'll have to deal with the consequences of having two Quirks, and the stress of hiding this secret away from the world. As if that weren't enough, he's now starting to have doubts about "facts" he's known his entire life.
Be careful what you wish for, it might come true.
Side note - The main character is going to end up discovering they're trans. However, the story starts before this discovery, so it'll use the wrong pronouns for a while. I won't be changing this, as I think it's an important illustration of how her identity changes over time. If that's not your thing, I understand. However, as a trans person myself, who sometimes still questions their identity, I think it's good to explore this sort of space and really reflect.
